Our Origins

Maureen Stringer-Morrison founded Stringers of Edinburgh in 1992 and opened Stringers of London in 2007.

As a professional cellist, teacher and parent of young string players, she wanted to create a centre of excellence for string players of all levels from beginner to professional in a pleasant, relaxed environment.

Maureen studied Cello at the Royal College of Music, London, and the Chigiana in Sienna. She subsequently became a member of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and the Scottish Baroque Ensemble.
