Fine French Violin bow by Joseph Alfred Lamy (Père), Paris, c.1900
Joseph Alfred Lamy was born in Mirecourt, France. He worked for Voirin in Paris from 1877 to 1885, after which he started his own workshop at 34 rue de Faubourg Poissonière. His son, Hippolyte Camille Lamy, (who succeeded him) and nephew, Alfred Lamy, continued on the family tradition as celebrated bow makers.
